It's evening now, been there and home already but here is the breakdown of what happened today.
My apt was for 9:30 am. I vaguely remember the nurse saying something about, "Next time you need to get blood work done downstairs before you come up here to see the Doctor". UGH.
Well, we get there at 9:30, we upstairs (forgot). Got checked in and are waiting in the room for the Doctor. The nurse comes in and goes through the basics. Says "Doctor will be right in". Â
45 minutes later, NOTHING.. Okay, so I have Travis open the door and leave it open and when someone passes by we ask them what's going on. Did the doctor have rush over for surgery or what?  5 minutes later, the Doctor is walking by, she stops and says "Oh, hey, we are still waiting on your blood work results".  Well crap. so we tell her, Uh. NO. We haven't had blood drawn yet. She says she wonders why the nurse didn't mention it. Okay, well, they send us downstair to get blood drawn. But first, lets just go ahead and get the visit out of the way so you don't have to come back upstairs.  So, I go over the symptoms I had with #2, she agrees to lower the chemo dosage. AWESOME... Â
I also complain about my stomach hurting and that lump we found hasn't gone away, not to mention it consistantly is getting more and more painful, STILL. She says, Okay, we will get you set up with a new CT scan in a couple weeks before your next appointment and we will see what is going on. Then she sends us downstairs.
We get down to that room. Get checked in, explain we had a foul up with where to go first. They say it's fine..
We sit down and watch as every single person but us gets called, even the one's that came in after us. 30 minutes in, I see a nurse come out and talk to the front desk. "Why hasn't Mrs Baldwin started Chemo yet?" Oh, well because no one has come to get her to do Blood draws. "Oh, okay."  that was it.. Nothing. for another 20 minutes. Another nurse comes out and talks to the front desk, I over hear it all, saying the same things. Nurse puts my folder down, grabs another one and walks off. I get up and say. HEY, I"m Mr's Baldwin. When ya call me in get my blood drawn. I live 2 hours away and at this rate I won't get home til midnight.. They say, " in a minute, I promise".  4 more people come and getting their blood drawn, see their doctor and return to get started with their chemo. OKAY.. I was done at this point. I stood up and was just about ready to get very "pissy" with someone when the nurse came out for me.  Â
Hubby and I both were like. Finally: this is shit. We are already exhausted, And since they can't start the Chemo fluids until they get the results back on the blood test, we sat there in the Chemo room, me getting the Pre-meds while we waited. Took another 25 minutes for them to come back and say we were a go for Chemo. Good, that means my numbers are still good.
6 hours later, we go eat dinner at our favorite chinese restaurant and go home.. Exhausted, we pretty much go to bed within the hour of returning home.
